TOP STORYSETDB2 Links E2A-PBX1 to Cell-Cycle Dysregulation in Acute Leukemia through CDKN2C Repression Scientists demonstrated an oncogenic role for the protein lysine methyltransferase SETDB2 in leukemia pathogenesis. It was overexpressed in pre-BCR+ acute lymphoblastic leukemia and required for their maintenance in vitro and in vivo. [Cell Rep] Full Article | Graphical Abstract | |

PUBLICATIONS(Ranked by impact factor of the journal)The authors developed an advanced humanized model with features of an organ bone by providing different bone tissue cellular compartments including pre‐osteoblasts, MSCs, endothelial and hematopoietic cells in an engineered microenvironment. [Int J Cancer] Abstract Sirtuin3 (SIRT3) was downregulated in amniotic fluid stem cells (AFSCs) under high glucose stimulation, where its expression was positively correlated with AFSCs survival and proliferation. Transplanting SIRT3-overexpressing AFSCs in C57BL/KsJ db/db obese mice improved the abnormalities in glucose metabolic parameters, including the levels of glucose, insulin, C-peptide, lycated hemoglobin and inflammatory markers. [Cell Physiol Biochem] Full Article Scientists investigated MSCs as a promising therapeutic strategy for critical limb ischemia. They evaluated MSCs from two donors and analyzed the capacity for angiogenesis through in vivo and in vitro assays to compare the therapeutic effect between different donors. [Exp Mol Med] Full Article Investigators compared transplant related outcomes following double-unit cord blood transplant in those who received standard-reduced intensity conditioning (RIC) versus thiotepa based intensified-RIC. [Biol Blood Marrow Transplant] Abstract A pooled amniotic fluid (AF) sample from 7 healthy volunteers was used to provide a comprehensive profile of normal human AF proteome using immunoaffinity depletion of 14 high-abundance proteins. REVIEWSChronic graft-versus-host disease (cGVHD) continues to be the leading cause of late morbidity and mortality after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, which is an increasingly applied curative method for both benign and malignant hematologic disorders. Biomarker identification is crucial for the development of noninvasive and cost-effective cGVHD diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive test for use in clinic.
