PUBLICATIONS(Ranked by impact factor of the journal)The authors investigated the ability of decidua basalis tissue of human term placenta (DBMSCs) to reverse the damaging effects of high levels of glucose on endothelial cells. DBMSCs and endothelial cells were isolated from human placental and umbilical cord tissues, respectively. [J Cell Mol Med] Full Article Cord Blood Transplants Supported by Unrelated Donor CD34+ Progenitor Cells Investigators report 26 patients who underwent haplo-cord transplant using CD34+-selected partially matched unrelated donor grafts. 24 were conditioned with fludarabine/melphalan+/-low-dose TBI. [Bone Marrow Transplant] Abstract 61 apheresis procedures of 42 patients undergoing autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant were analyzed. Viable CD34+ cells were quantified with flow cytometry before controlled rate freezing, after ten days of storage, and before reinfusion. [Transfusion] Abstract Scientists describe a novel technique to produce expandable and functional hepatocyte-like cells from the fusion of an immortalized human umbilical cord blood derived cell line to normal human primary hepatocytes. Multi-lineage progenitor cells comprised a small subset of mesenchymal-like cells isolated from human umbilical cord blood. [PLoS One] Full Article Both genome-edited infant and adult KMT2Ar cells showed monoclonal outgrowth with an immature morphology, myelomonocytic phenotype and elevated KMT2Ar target gene expression comparable to patient cells.
