Caloric Restriction Promotes Structural and Metabolic Changes in the Skin

Anti-Inflammatory Role of Langerhans Cells and Apoptotic Keratinocytes in Ultraviolet-B–Induced Cutaneous Inflammation

Ultraviolet-B (UVB)-induced apoptotic keratinocytes were increased in Langerhans cell (LC)-depleted mice. Scientists revealed that UVB-induced apoptotic keratinocytes were phagocytosed by LCs ex vivo and that prolongation of UVB-induced cutaneous inflammation following treatment with Cytochalasin D, an inhibitor of phagocytosis, was partially attenuated in LC-depleted mice. MAD2B Acts as a Negative Regulatory Partner of TCF4 on Proliferation in Human Dermal Papilla Cells

Overexpression of MAD2B inhibited dermal papilla cell (DPC) aggregative growth and proliferation induced by the Wnt signaling activator T cell factor 4 (TCF4), and decreased TCF4-induced expression and the release of hair growth-related cytokines, including hepatocyte growth factor, insulin-like growth factor-1, and vascular endothelial growth factor in DPCs. The authors investigated the importance of keratinocyte focal adhesion kinase (FAK) at the single cell level in key fibrogenic pathways critical for scar formation. Alterations of MicroRNAs throughout the Malignant Evolution of Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma: The Role of miR-497 in Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition of Keratinocytes

Researchers found several miRNAs with ‘stage specific’ alterations while others display a clear ‘gradual’, either progressive increase or decrease in expression along the malignant evolution of keratinocytes. The Tumor-Promoting Role of TRIP4 in Melanoma Progression and Its Involvement in Response to BRAF-Targeted Therapy

Scientists explored the carcinogenic role of thyroid hormone receptor interactor 4 (TRIP4) in melanoma. The high expression of TRIP4 was observed in human melanoma cells and tissues. Its knockdown suppressed melanoma progression in vitro and in vivo, including melanoma cell proliferation, migration and invasion inhibition, and apoptosis induction. [J Invest Dermatol] Abstract

Effects of MicroRNA-136 on Melanoma Cell Proliferation, Apoptosis, and Epithelial–Mesenchymal Transition by Targeting PMEL through the Wnt Signaling Pathway
