PDL2⁺ CD11b⁺ Dermal Dendritic Cells Capture Topical Antigen through Hair Follicles to Prime LAP⁺ Tregs

Researchers showed how topical antigen was acquired and presented by dendritic cells in the skin. Topical antigen was acquired by Langerhans cells (LC) and CD11b⁺ cDC2s but not cDC1s, and both LCs and CD11b⁺ cDC2s reaching the lymph node could prime T cells and expand LAP⁺ Tregs. Scientists reported that p62 was proteolytically trimmed by the protease caspase-8 into a stable protein, which they called p62TRM. Researchers described a cost-effective, multicellular microfluidic system that mimicked the paracrine component of early inflammation close to normal wound healing. HelixComplex Snail Mucus Exhibits Pro-Survival, Proliferative and Pro-Migration Effects on Mammalian Fibroblasts

Elovl6 Regulates Mechanical Damage-Induced Keratinocyte Death and Skin Inflammation

Scientists showed that keratinocytes expressed the long-chain fatty-acid elongase Elovl6. Mice deficient in Elovl6 showed higher levels of cis-vaccenic acid in the epidermis and severe skin inflammation induced by mechanical damage due to tape stripping than did wild-type mice. Combination of Chemotherapy and Physical Plasma Elicits Melanoma Cell Death via Upregulation of SLC22A16

Using murine and human melanoma cells, researchers investigated traditional cytotoxic agents in combination with cold physical plasma-derived oxidants. They reported synergistic cytotoxicity of doxorubicin and epirubicin, and additive toxicity of oxaliplatin with plasma exposure in coefficient of drug interaction analysis. Isolation and Characterization of Two Canine Melanoma Cell Lines: New Models for Comparative Oncology

Investigators developed and characterized two canine oral melanoma cell lines from tumors isolated from dog patients with distinct clinical profiles; with and without lung metastases. Metformin Inhibits Pro-Inflammatory Responses via Targeting Nuclear Factor-κB in HaCaT Cells

Researchers examined the role of metformin in nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB)-mediated inflammatory responses in HaCaT cells. Their results demonstrated that metformin significantly decreased the mRNA and protein levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα), interleukin (IL)-6, IL-8, and IL-1β induced by TNFα. Antibody-Mediated Delivery of VEGF-C Potently Reduces Chronic Skin Inflammation

In two mouse models of psoriasis-like skin inflammation, mediated by transgenic VEGF-A overexpression or repeated application of imiquimod, intravenous treatment with human VEGF-C fused to the F8 antibody but not with untargeted VEGF-C significantly reduced ear skin edema and was as effective as the clinically used TNF-α receptor-Fc fusion protein.
