PUBLICATIONS(Ranked by impact factor of the journal)Angiopoietin-2 Mediates Thrombin-Induced Monocyte Adhesion and Endothelial Permeability In time course experiments, thrombin-stimulated Angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) up-regulation peaked prior to the expression of adhesion molecule ICAM-1 in human umbilical vein derived endothelial cells. Knockdown of Ang-2 blocked both thrombin induced monocyte adhesion and ICAM-1 expression. [J Thromb Haemost] Abstract EphrinB2 Regulates the Emergence of a Hemogenic Endothelium from the Aorta Researchers showed that EphrinB2, a principal regulator of endothelial cell function, controls the development of endothelium producing adult-type hematopoiesis. The absence of EphrinB2 impairs DA-derived hematopoiesis. [Sci Rep] Full Article CC chemokine 28 (CCL28) promoted tube formation, migration and proliferation of endothelial cells. In addition, angiogenesis was promoted by CCL28 in the chick chorioallantoic membrane and matrigel implanted in dorsal back of athymic nude mice. [Sci Rep] Full Article Combinatorial therapy with three-dimensional cell masses (3DCMs) and self-assembling peptides (SAPs) was tested in a rat myocardial infarction model. By combining 3DCMs and SAPs, survival and retention of transplanted cells increased threefold when compared with treatment with 3DCMs alone and transplanted cells established vascular networks in infarcted hearts. [J Tissue Eng Regen Med] Abstract Scientists showed that constitutive loss of endothelial cell mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase kinase 4 (Map4k4) in mice causes postnatal lethality due to chylothorax, suggesting that Map4k4 is required for normal lymphatic vascular function. [Mol Cell Biol] Abstract Researchers investigated the effect of AURKA on angiogenesis and tumorigenesis of human ovarian cancer cells. [Target Oncol] Abstract The authors elaborated molecular differences between choroidal and retinal angiogenesis by generating and comparatively analyzing human primary choroidal and retinal endothelial cell lines. [Acta Ophthalmol] Abstract Role of Klotho in Migration and Proliferation of Human Dermal Microvascular Endothelial Cells Scientists showed that downregulation of Klotho (Kl) abrogated human dermal microvascular endothelial cell migration after 48 hours. On the other hand, migration of human dermal fibroblasts significantly increased after blocking Kl. Lack of Kl decreased expression of genes involved in the activation of endothelial cells and enhanced expression of genes involved in extracellular matrix remodeling and organization of connective tissue.
