The T-Box Transcription Factor Eomesodermin Governs Hemogenic Competence of Yolk Sac Mesodermal Progenitors

Investigators demonstrated using an embryonic stem cell model that transient expression of the T-box transcription factor Eomesodermin governed hemogenic competency of extra-embryonic mesoderm.

Radiation Impacts Early Atherosclerosis by Suppressing Intimal LDL Accumulation

Atherosclerosis was studied in the ascending aortic arch and compared to mice without bone marrow transplantation (BMT). In BMT mice, neutral lipid and myeloid cell topography were lower in lesions after feeding a cholesterol-rich diet for three, six and 12 weeks.

Cardiomyocytes Stimulate Angiogenesis after Ischemic Injury in a ZEB2-Dependent Manner

Scientists showed that the transcription factor zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 2 (ZEB2) was increased in stressed cardiomyocytes and induces a cardioprotective cross-talk between cardiomyocytes and endothelial cells to enhance angiogenesis after ischemia.

Role of IL-36 Cytokines in the Regulation of Angiogenesis Potential of Trophoblast Cells

Researchers characterized the expression of IL-36 members in human primary trophoblast cells and trophoblastic cell lines and upon treatment with bacterial and viral components.

Microvascular Density, Endothelial Area, and Ki-67 Proliferative Index Correlate Each Other in Cat Post-Injection Fibrosarcoma

Scientists conducted a crossing study evaluating microvascular density, endothelial area, and Ki-67 proliferative index was reported for a series of formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue samples from 99 cat patients, affected by cat post-injection fibrosarcoma, by using a till ×400 magnification light microscopy.

A New Reporter Zebrafish Line Unveils Heterogeneity among Lymphatic Endothelial Cells during Development

The authors established a novel zebrafish transgenic line expressing eGFP under the control of part of the zebrafish Basic Leucine Zipper ATF‐Like Transcription Factor 3 (batf3) promoter. Spatiotemporal examination of Tg(batf3MIN:eGFP) transgenic fish revealed a typical lymphatic expression pattern, which does not perfectly recapitulate the expression pattern of existing lymphatic endothelial cell transgenic lines.

Mechanisms of Vasculogenic Mimicry in Hypoxic Tumor Microenvironments

Investigators describe that the stemness and differentiation potential of cancer stem cells were enhanced under hypoxic microenvironments, through hypoxia-induced epithelial-endothelial transition and extracellular matrix remodeling to form the specific mechanism of vasculogenic mimicry.
