Researchers analyzed the cellular and molecular effects of two different histone deacetylase inhibitors, MGCD0103 and vorinostat, in combination with GX15-070, a BH3-mimetic, in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines and primary AML cells, and demonstrated that the combination has a synergistic antileukemia effect. Secondary Solid Cancers After Allogeneic Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation Using Busulfan-Cyclophosphamide Conditioning
Researchers evaluated the incidence and risk-factors for solid cancers after hematopoietic-cell transplant (HCT) using myeloablative busulfan-cyclophosphamide (Bu-Cy) conditioning in 4,318 recipients of first allogeneic HCT for acute myeloid leukemia in first complete remission (N=1,742) and chronic myeloid leukemia in first chronic phase (N=2,576).
