    Pathogen-Induced Human TH17 Cells Produce IFN-γ or IL-10 and Are Regulated by IL-1β
    Scientists demonstrated that, by eliciting different cytokines, Candida albicans and Staphylococcus aureus prime IL-17-producing CD4+ T helper (TH17) cells that produce either IFN-γ or IL-10, and identified IL-1β and IL-2 as pro- and anti-inflammatory regulators of TH17 cells at both the priming and the effector phases.     Dynamic Transformations of Genome-Wide Epigenetic Marking and Transcriptional Control Establish T Cell Identity
    To define molecular mechanisms controlling T cell developmental progression, researchers probed five stages spanning the commitment process using RNA-seq and ChIP-seq to track genome-wide shifts in transcription, cohorts of active transcription factor genes, histone modifications at diverse classes of cis-regulatory elements, and the binding repertoires of GATA-3 and PU.1, transcription factors with complementary roles in T cell development.     The Dendritic Cell Receptor Clec9A Binds Damaged Cells via Exposed Actin Filaments
    Researchers identified the Clec9A ligand as a filamentous form of actin in association with particular actin-binding domains of cytoskeletal proteins and propose that Clec9A provides targeted recruitment of the adaptive immune system during infection and can also be utilized to enhance immune responses generated by vaccines.
