Preventing E-Cadherin Aberrant N-Glycosylation at Asn-554 Improves Its Critical Function in Gastric Cancer
Using transgenic mice models and human clinical samples, researchers demonstrated that N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase V-mediated glycosylation caused an abnormal pattern of E-cadherin expression in the gastric mucosa. [Oncogene] Abstract

PAK5-Mediated E47 Phosphorylation Promotes Epithelial–Mesenchymal Transition and Metastasis of Colon Cancer
Scientists found that p21-activated kinase 5 (PAK5)-mediated E47 phosphorylation promoted epithelial–mesenchymal transition in advanced colon cancer. PAK5 interacted with E47 and phosphorylated E47 on Ser39 under hepatocyte growth factor stimulation, which decreased cell–cell cohesion, increased cell migration and invasion in vitro and promoted metastasis in a xenograft model. IL-18 Is Involved in Eosinophil-Mediated Tumoricidal Activity against a Colon Carcinoma Cell Line by Upregulating LFA-1 and ICAM-1

Prognostic Relevance of LGALS3BP in Human Colorectal Carcinoma
