Control of Breast Cancer Growth and Initiation by the Stem Cell-Associated Transcription Factor TCF

Phenotype-Dependent Effects of EpCAM Expression on Growth and Invasion of Human Breast Cancer Cell Lines
The epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) has been shown to be overexpressed in breast cancer and stem cells and has emerged as an attractive target for immunotherapy of breast cancer patients. Doxorubicin Influences the Expression of Glucosylceramide Synthase in Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer
Investigators collected 84 excision biopsies from patients with invasive ductal breast cancer of whom 33 patients had undergone preoperative chemotherapy. Immunohistochemistry was used to analyze the expression of glucosylceramide synthase (GCS) protein and significantly showed that the expression of GCS was higher in the samples from patients treated with preoperative chemotherapy.
