N-Cadherin Overexpression Mobilizes the Protective Effects of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells against Ischemic Heart Injury through A Β-Catenin Dependent Manner

Researchers demonstrated that N-cadherin overexpression enhanced MSC protective effects against ischemic heart failure via β-catenin mediated MMP-10/MMP-13/HGF expression and production, promoting adipose tissue-derived MSC (ADSC)/cardiomyocyte adhesion and ADSC retention. [Circ Res] Abstract

PLGA-Collagen-ECM Hybrid Meshes Mimicking Stepwise Osteogenesis and Their Influence on the Osteogenic Differentiation of hMSCs

Stepwise osteogenesis-mimicking extracellular matrix (ECM) deposited poly (lactic-coglycolic acid) (PLGA)-collagen hybrid meshes showed different ECM compositions associated with the stage of osteogenesis, their effects on the osteogenic differentiation of human MSCs (hMSCs) differed. Histone Demethylase KDM4D Cooperates with NFIB and MLL1 Complex to Regulate Adipogenic Differentiation of C3H10T1/2 Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Investigators report KDM4D histone demethylase as a key regulator of adipogenesis in C3H10T1/2 MSCs. The depletion of KDM4D resulted in impaired differentiation, which could be rescued by exogenous KDM4D, PPARγ, and C/EBPα, but not by C/EBPβ. [Sci Rep] Full Article

Mesenchymal Stem Cells Promote the Resolution of Cardiac Inflammation after Ischemia Reperfusion via Enhancing Efferocytosis of Neutrophils

MSCs infused immediately and 24 hours later both markedly ameliorated myocardial ischemia‐reperfusion injury, and immediate infusion had more significant outcome. Local Transplantation of Adipose-Derived Stem Cells Has a Significant Therapeutic Effect in a Mouse Model of Rheumatoid Arthritis

In an in vivo experiment, single-cell adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) and 3D-cultured ADSC spheroids were injected intra-articularly into the knees of rheumatoid arthritis model mice and histologically assessed. Pharmacological Tools to Mobilize Mesenchymal Stromal Cells into the Blood Promote Bone Formation after Surgery

Researchers showed that β3 adrenergic agonists (β3AR) in combination with a CXCR4 antagonist, AMD3100/Plerixafor, could mobilize MSCs into the blood in mice and rats. Mechanistically they showed that reversal of the CXCL12 gradient across the bone marrow endothelium and local generation of endocannabinoids may both play a role in this process.
