    TOP STORY

Dynamic Cell Contacts between Periportal Mesenchyme and Ductal Epithelium Act as a Rheostat for Liver Cell Proliferation

In the liver, ductal cells rarely proliferate during homeostasis but do so transiently after tissue injury. Using organoid co-cultures that recapitulated the ductal-to-mesenchymal cell architecture of the portal tract, researchers demonstrated that a subpopulation of mouse periportal mesenchymal cells exerted dual control on proliferation of the epithelium.

Establishment of an Integration-Free Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell Line (TJCi001-a) from Normal Bone Marrow-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells

Scientists generated an induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) line from bone marrow-MSCs employing a non-integrating episomal vector. The generated iPSCs expressed pluripotency markers, showed a normal karyotype, and exhibited the potential for in vitro differentiation into three germ layers.

Transplantation of Human Autologous Synovial Mesenchymal Stem Cells with Trisomy 7 into the Knee Joint and 5 Years of Follow-Up

Investigators determined the ratio of patients whose synovial MSCs were transplanted clinically, to intensively investigate MSCs with trisomy 7 from a safety perspective, and to follow up the patients for five years after transplantation.
