Organotypic hippocampal slice cultures (OHSC) were administered lipopolysaccharide to induce inflammation and immediately co-cultured with encapsulated or monolayer human mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs). Denver Back Pain Specialists announced that it has enrolled its first patient in a nationwide FDA- cleared adult stem cell study (Phase III) testing an investigational treatment for chronic low back pain associated with degenerative disc disease.
