    Scientists studied the consequences of chondroitin sulfate-deglycanation further and revealed that chondroitin sulfate glycosaminoglycans are selectively required for neurosphere formation, proliferation and self-renewal of embryonic cortical neural stem/progenitor cells in response to fibroblast growth factor-2.
