    Regulation of Islet Beta Cell Pyruvate Metabolism: Interactions of Prolactin, Glucose, and Dexamethasone
    The findings suggest that prolactin (PRL) induction of glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS) is mediated by increases in beta cell pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) activity; this is facilitated by suppression of pyruvate dehydrogenase kinases (PDKs).
