    Survival in High-Risk Prostate Cancer Patients Is Predicted by miR-221, which Regulates Proliferation, Apoptosis and Invasion of Prostate Cancer Cells by Inhibiting IRF2 and SOCS3

    The MAP Kinases p38 and ERK Are Involved in Hepatocyte-Mediated Phenotypic Switching in Prostate Cancer Cells
    Researchers showed that hepatocytes educate prostate cancer to undergo mesenchymal to epithelial reverting transition by modulating the activity of p38 and ERK1/2.     Rottlerin Induces Wnt Co-Receptor LRP6 Degradation and Suppresses Both Wnt/ß-Catenin and mTORC1 Signaling in Prostate and Breast Cancer Cells
    The inhibitory effects of rottlerin on lipoprotein receptor-related protein-6 (LRP6) expression/phosphorylation and Wnt/ß-catenin signaling were confirmed in human prostate cancer PC-3 and DU145 cells and breast cancer MDA-MB-231 and T-47D cells. [Cell Signal] Abstract

    Serine Protease Inhibitor Kazal Type 1 Promotes Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition through EGFR Signaling Pathway in Prostate Cancer
    Serine protease inhibitor Kazal type 1 (SPINK1)-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in benign prostate RWPE cells, manifested by acquisition of mesenchymal morphology, alternation of EMT markers as well as migration and invasion capabilities.     Plant Flavone Apigenin Binds to Nucleic Acid Bases and Reduces Oxidative DNA Damage in Prostate Epithelial Cells

    Nanoparticles of Star-Like Copolymer Mannitol-Functionalized Poly(Lactide)-Vitamin E TPGS for Delivery of Paclitaxel to Prostate Cancer Cells
    The purpose of this research was to develop novel nanoparticles (NPs) of star-like copolymer mannitol-functionalized poly(lactide)-vitamin E TPGS (M-PLA-TPGS) for paclitaxel delivery for prostate cancer treatment, and evaluate their therapeutic effects in prostate cancer cell line and animal model in comparison with the linear PLGA NPs and poly(lactide)-vitamin E TPGS NPs.     Stabilization of Snail by HIF-1a and TNF-a Is Required for Hypoxia-Induced Invasion in Prostate Cancer PC3 Cells

    miR-34 Cooperates with p53 in Suppression of Prostate Cancer by Joint Regulation of Stem Cell Compartment
    Scientists report that mice with prostate epithelium-specific inactivation of mir-34 and p53 show expansion of the prostate stem cell compartment and develop early invasive adenocarcinomas and high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia, whereas no such lesions are observed after inactivation of either the mir-34 or p53 genes alone by 15 months of age.
