In vitro, the lead candidate EBC-1013 stimulated protein kinase C–dependent neutrophil reactive oxygen species induction and NETosis and increased expression of wound healing–associated cytokines, chemokines, and antimicrobial peptides in keratinocytes and fibroblasts.
