Identification and Characterization of a First-Generation Inhibitor of Claudin-1 in Colon Cancer Progression and Metastasis

Scientists found that a novel small molecule, PDS-0330, may prevent colorectal progression and metastasis by interfering with claudin-1 binding to metastatic oncogene Src. This resulted in the inhibition of the resistance to anoikis, invasion, and tumorigenic potential in claudin-1 overexpressed cells.
