Iron Supplementation Enhances RSL3-Induced Ferroptosis to Treat Naïve and Prevent Castration-Resistant Prostate Cancer

Exploiting in vitro and in vivo human and murine prostate cancer (PCa) models, researchers showed that RSL3 induced ferroptosis in PCa cells and demonstrated for the first time that iron supplementation significantly increased the effect of RSL3 triggering lipid peroxidation and enhanced intracellular stress leading to cancer cell death.
