Researchers showed that ETS Variant Transcription Factor 4 (ETV4) plays an essential role in the proliferation, invasion, and migration of trophoblast cells by regulating matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) and MMP-9 and was involved in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia.
