Use of 2D Minilungs from Human Embryonic Stem Cells to Study the Interaction of Cryptococcus neoformans with the Respiratory Tract

The authors used 2D human lung organoid derived from hESCs, to investigate Cryptococcus neoformans-host interactions. C. neoformans is an opportunistic fungus acquired by inhalation that causes systemic mycosis mainly in immunocompromised individuals.
