Researchers established a gut epithelium-microbe-immune microphysiological system to maintain the long-term continuous co-culture of Faecalibacterium prausnitzii/Faecalibacterium duncaniae with colonic epithelium, antigen-presenting cells, and CD4+ naive T cells circulating underneath the colonic epithelium.
