Investigators evaluated the effects of B. uniformis on energy homeostasis, and intestinal immunity in wild-type and Rag1-deficient mice with diet-induced obesity. They assessed whether it needed to be viable to exert its beneficial effects on obesity and to directly induce immunoregulatory effects.
