Using the mouse KRT19-deficient pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma model (PDA), researchers reported that intratumoral accumulation of natural killer T cells (NKT) was required to establish an immunologically active tumor microenvironment (TME). Administration of folinic acid to mice bearing PDA increased NKT cells in the TME and improved their response to anti-PD-1 antibody treatment.
