Researchers showed that FXYD Domain Containing Ion Transport Regulator 2 (FXYD2) marks and regulates functional maturation and heterogeneity of generated human islet-like organoids, by controlling the β cell transcriptome necessary for glucose-stimulated insulin secretion.
