Scientists investigated the preclinical efficacy of polyamine depletion in acute leukemia. The polyamine biosynthesis inhibitor difluoromethylornithine inhibited the growth of a molecularly diverse panel of acute leukemia cell lines, while non-malignant cells were unaffected.
