Scientists showed that SK-MEL-28 SNCA-knockout cells relative to control cells exhibit an (i) increased density of endolysosomes; (ii) increased perinuclear positioning of large endolysosomes; and (iii) decreased levels of the tetraspanins CD9 and CD81.
