Scientists performed multi-omic profiling of keratinocytes, actinic keratoses, and cutaneous squamous cell carcinomas. Single-cell mutational analyses revealed that most keratinocytes have remarkably low mutation burdens; however, keratinocytes with TP53 or NOTCH1 mutations exhibit substantially higher burdens.
