Impact of Macular Fluid Features on Outcomes of Anti-Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Treatment for Type 3 Macular Neovascularization

[Scientific Reports] The authors evaluated the impact of macular fluid features on visual and anatomical outcomes in type 3 macular neovascularization (MNV) patients treated with anti-VEGF. They found that the macular fluid morphology, specifically subretinal fluid, in type 3 MNV showed no significant correlation with visual and anatomical outcomes during anti-VEGF treatment.

A Novel Personalized Treatment Approach for Psoriasis: Anti-VEGF-A Therapy

[British Journal of Dermatology] Vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) mediates angiogenesis and is upregulated in the plaques and plasma of patients with psoriasis. Targeting VEGF-A in in vivo models of psoriasis-like inflammation results in disease clearance.

NOXXON Announces Enrollment of First Patient in the Expansion of the NOX-A12 Phase I/II Trial in Brain Cancer

[NOXXON Pharma N.V.] NOXXON Pharma N.V. announced that the first patient was enrolled in an expansion arm of the GLORIA clinical trial of NOX-A12 in MGMT unmethylated brain cancer.

Isarna Therapeutics Announces First Patient Enrolled in International Phase IIa Clinical Study in Ophthalmology Indications Wet AMD and DME

[Isarna Therapeutics] Isarna Therapeutics announced the enrollment of the first patient in the BETTER Study, a parallel, two-segment Phase IIa clinical study to evaluate Isarna’s lead candidate ISTH0036 in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic macular edema (DME).

Local Delivery of Hydrogel Encapsulated Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor for the Prevention of Medication-Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw

[Scientific Reports] The authors evaluated the potential of a gelatine-hyaluronic acid hydrogel loaded with the angiogenic growth factor, VEGF, as a local delivery system to aid in maintaining vascularization in a bisphosphonate-treated rodent maxillary extraction defect.

α1-Adrenergic Receptor Mediates Adipose-Derived Stem Cell Sheet-Induced Protection against Chronic Heart Failure after Myocardial Infarction in Rats

[Hypertension Research] Hypoxia increased α1-AR and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mRNA levels in adipose-derived stem cells. Norepinephrine further increased VEGF mRNA expression under hypoxia; this effect was abolished by doxazosin.
