The Intraprostatic Immune Environment after Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy Is Dominated by Myeloid Cells

Freshly resected prostate specimens were processed to obtain single-cell suspensions, and immune-phenotyped for major lymphoid and myeloid cell subsets by staining with two separate 14-antibody panels and multicolor flow cytometry analysis.

Investigators showed that neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) were abundant in the liver metastases of patients with breast and colon cancers, and that serum NETs could predict the occurrence of liver metastases in patients with early-stage breast cancer.

miR-503-5p Inhibits Colon Cancer Tumorigenesis, Angiogenesis, and Lymphangiogenesis by Directly Downregulating VEGF-A

Scientists observed considerable downregulation of miR-503-5p expression in colon cancer cells and tissues and significant correlation with the TNM stage, differentiation grade and lymph node metastasis of colon cancer. Overexpression of miR-503-5p promoted the apoptosis and G1 arrest of colon cancer cells, and inhibited migration, proliferation, invasion and colony formation.
