Investigators prepared mitochondria-activated stem cells (MITO cells) for use in transplantation. MITO cells, which were cardiac progenitor cells activated by the mitochondrial delivery of resveratrol with an anti-oxidant and mitochondrial activation effects, were successfully prepared using a mitochondrial targeting nanocarrier.
