Adversity in Early Life and Pregnancy Are Immunologically Distinct from Total Life Adversity: Macrophage-Associated Phenotypes in Women Exposed to Interpersonal Violence

2009%3D%5Cu20090.032%29%20were%20each%20associated%20with%20higher%20M1%5C%2FM2%20gene%20expression%2C%20whereas%20higher%20lifetime%20adversity%20%28%5Cu00df%20%3D%20%5Cu2212.341%2C%20p%5Cu2009%3D%5Cu20090.031%29%20was%20associated%20with%20lower%20immunosuppressive%20gene%20expression.%20Adversity%20during%20sensitive%20periods%20was%20uniquely%20associated%20with%20M1%5C%2FM2%20imbalance%2C%20among%20low-income%20women%20with%20interpersonal%20violence%20exposure.%20Given%20that%20M1%5C%2FM2%20imbalance%20is%20found%20in%20sepsis%2C%20severe%20COVID-19%20and%20myriad%20chronic%20diseases%2C%20these%20findings%20implicate%20novel%20immune%20mechanisms%20underlying%20the%20impact%20of%20adversity%20on%20health.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%222021-07-20%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22en%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%2210.1038%5C%2Fs41398-021-01498-1%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%222158-3188%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%5C%2F%5C%2Fwww.nature.com%5C%2Farticles%5C%2Fs41398-021-01498-1%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222021-07-20T20%3A19%3A25Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
