Researchers conducted transmission electron microscopy experiments of an intracranial glioblastoma model and showed that ligand-modified nanoparticles traversed the blood–brain barrier, endocytosed into the lysosomes of glioblastoma cells, and underwent endo-lysosomal escape upon photochemical ionization.
