Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) is a novel age-related risk factor for cardiovascular disease–related morbidity and mortality. Researchers found that CHIP was associated with an increased risk of stroke, particularly with hemorrhagic and small vessel ischemic stroke.
