Investigators showed that AT-rich interaction domain 4B (ARID4B) interfered with KITLG/KIT signaling, consequently allowing HSC differentiation. Conditional Arid4b knockout in mouse hematopoietic cells blocked fetal HSC differentiation, preventing hematopoiesis.
