Cells expressing human sodium-taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide were inoculated with hepatitis B virus (HBV) or hepatitis delta virus. HBV pre-genomic RNA, covalently closed circular DNA and different relaxed circular DNA intermediates were produced in vitro.
