Scientists reported that most high-grade pediatric osteosarcomas maintained their telomeres by alternative lengthening of telomeres (ALT), and that the majority of these ALT tumors were ATRX wild-type and instead carried an amplified 17p11.2 chromosomal region containing TOP3A.
