%20disease%20severity%2C%20from%20outpatients%20with%20mild%20disease%20to%20fatal%20cases.%20Our%20transcriptomic%2C%20epigenomic%2C%20and%20proteomic%20analyses%20revealed%20widespread%20dysfunction%20of%20peripheral%20innate%20immunity%20in%20severe%20and%20fatal%20COVID-19%2C%20including%20prominent%20hyperactivation%20signatures%20in%20neutrophils%20and%20NK%20cells.%20We%20also%20identified%20chromatin%20accessibility%20changes%20at%20NF-%5Cu03baB%20binding%20sites%20within%20cytokine%20gene%20loci%20as%20a%20potential%20mechanism%20for%20the%20striking%20lack%20of%20pro-inflammatory%20cytokine%20production%20observed%20in%20monocytes%20in%20severe%20and%20fatal%20COVID-19.%20We%20further%20demonstrated%20that%20emergency%20myelopoiesis%20is%20a%20prominent%20feature%20of%20fatal%20COVID-19.%20Collectively%2C%20our%20results%20reveal%20disease%20severity%5Cu2013associated%20immune%20phenotypes%20in%20COVID-19%20and%20identify%20pathogenesis-associated%20pathways%20that%20are%20potential%20targets%20for%20therapeutic%20intervention.%22%2C%22date%22%3A%22June%2015%2C%202021%22%2C%22language%22%3A%22%22%2C%22DOI%22%3A%2210.1084%5C%2Fjem.20210582%22%2C%22ISSN%22%3A%220022-1007%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%5C%2F%5C%2Fdoi.org%5C%2F10.1084%5C%2Fjem.20210582%22%2C%22collections%22%3A%5B%5D%2C%22dateModified%22%3A%222021-06-16T18%3A07%3A25Z%22%7D%7D%5D%7D
