miR24-2 Promotes Malignant Progression of Human Liver Cancer Stem Cells by Enhancing Tyrosine Kinase Src Epigenetically

Scientists demonstrated that miR24-2 promoted the proliferation ability in vitro and the tumorigenic ability in vivo in human liver cancer stem cells. Mitochondrial Damage Mediated by miR-1 Overexpression in Cancer Stem Cell

The authors indicated that the overexpression of an microRNA (miR-1) could destroy the mitochondria of cancer stem cells. MiR-1 was downregulated in melanoma and breast cancer stem cells compared with cancer non-stem cells. However, the upregulation of miR-1 in cancer non-stem cells did not induce mitochondrial damage. A Novel BMI-1 Inhibitor QW24 for the Treatment of Stem-Like Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer stem-like cell lines HCT116 and HT29 were used for screening more than 500 synthetic compounds by sulforhodamine B (SRB) cell proliferation assay. Ionizing Radiation Induces Endothelial Transdifferentiation of Glioblastoma Stem-Like Cells through the Tie2 Signaling Pathway

Scientists postulated that cellular stress such as ionizing radiation could enhance the transdifferentiation of glioblastoma stem-like cells into tumor derived endothelial cells. Iguratimod encapsulated in poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticles with an average size of 100-200 nm was prepared using modified double-emulsion method.
