Dysfunction of Hair Follicle Mesenchymal Progenitors Contributes to Age-Associated Hair Loss

Nintedanib Inhibits Keloid Fibroblast Functions by Blocking the Phosphorylation of Multiple Kinases and Enhancing Receptor Internalization

The authors investigated the effects of nintedanib on keloid fibroblasts in both in vitro and ex vivo models. They found that nintedanib dose-dependently suppressed cell proliferation, induced G0/G1 cell cycle arrest, and inhibited migration and invasion of keloid fibroblasts. [Acta Pharmacol Sin] Abstract

Oncostatin M Upregulates Livin to Promote Keratinocyte Proliferation and Survival via ERK and STAT3 Signaling Pathways

Scientists found that livin expression was upregulated after being stimulated with oncostatin M (OSM) at both the transcription and protein level. OSM promoted HaCaT cell survival in oxidative stress conditions, regulated through ERK and STAT3 signaling pathways. [Exp Physiol] Abstract

Regulation of eIF2α by RNF4 Promotes Melanoma Tumorigenesis and Therapy Resistance

The authors described that by stabilizing key melanoma oncoproteins, the ubiquitin ligase RNF4 promoted tumorigenesis and conferred resistance to targeted therapy in melanoma cells, xenograft mouse models and patient samples. [J Invest Dermatol] Full Article

Regulation of the Error-Prone DNA Polymerase Polκ by Oncogenic Signaling and Its Contribution to Drug Resistance

Melanoma cancer cells experiencing stress from oncogene inhibition up-regulated the expression of Polκ and shifted its localization from the cytoplasm to the nucleus. Keratinocyte Transglutaminase 2 Promotes CCR6⁺ γδT-Cell Recruitment by Upregulating CCL20 in Psoriatic Inflammation

Scientists showed that transglutaminase 2 (TG2) mediated the upregulation of cytokines and chemokines by activating NF-κB in imiquimod (IMQ)-treated keratinocytes. TG2-deficient mice exhibited reduced psoriatic inflammation in skin treated with IMQ. [Cell Death Dis] Full Article

22β-Hydroxytingenone Reduces Proliferation and Invasion of Human Melanoma Cells

22β-hydroxytingenone (22-HTG) interfered with important characteristics of cancer, with anti-proliferative and anti-invasive effects against melanoma cells.
