Investigators found that expression of hepatic tumor necrosis factor-like weak inducer of apoptosis (TWEAK) and its receptor tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 12A (Tnfrsf12a) were significantly increased during acute liver failure induced by thioacetamide or acetaminophen.
