The authors discuss the putative metabolic mechanisms underlying the emergence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) after liver transplantation as well as optimal therapeutic approaches for recipients of liver transplants.
