PUBLICATIONS(Ranked by impact factor of the journal)Clinical trials of potential new therapies for diabetic foot ulcers rarely enroll patients whose wounds extend to muscle, fascia, or bone with clinical and radiographic evidence of underlying osteomyelitis. An open label, multicenter trial of cryopreserved human umbilical cord was undertaken in 32 subjects presenting with such complex wounds. [Wound Repair Regen] Abstract The authors analyzed the impact of obesity on hematopoietic progenitor cell mobilization as well as key outcomes that are associated with cell dose in autologous hematopoietic cell transplantation recipients. [J Clin Apher] Abstract Predictive Factors for Successful Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Mobilization and Collection in Children Factors affecting the success of peripheral blood stem cell collection in children are not well characterized. Investigators reviewed 218 stem cell collections among 199 pediatric donors, of which 35 were from healthy sibling donors and 164 were for autologous collections. [J Clin Apher] Abstract Scientists analyzed the further immunomodulatory effects of endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-stressed umbilical cord-derived MSCs on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) CD4+CXCR5+ICOS+T cells. [Mod Rheumatol] Abstract Comparison between Adult and Fetal Adnexa Derived Equine Post-Natal Mesenchymal Stem Cells Researchers describe and compared characteristics, immune properties, and ultrastructural morphology of equine adult and fetal adnexa derived MSCs. [BMC Vet Res] Full Article Short Term Results of Fibrin Gel Obtained from Cord Blood Units: A Preliminary In Vitro Study Investigators showed that high volume cord blood units (CBUs) were characterized by greater recovery rates, concentration and number of platelets compared to the low volume CBUs. Proteomic analysis revealed the presence of key proteins for regenerative medicine. Fibrin gel was successfully produced from CBUs of all groups.
