Keratinocyte-Specific Ablation of Mcpip1 Impairs Skin Integrity and Promotes Local and Systemic Inflammation

Investigators generated mice with conditional deletion of Mcpip1 in the epidermis. Mcpip1 loss in keratinocytes resulted in the upregulated expression of transcripts encoding factors related to inflammation and keratinocyte differentiation, such as IL-36α/γ cytokines, S100a8/a9 antibacterial peptides, and Sprr2d/2h proteins. IL-23 Induces Regulatory T Cell Plasticity with Implications for Inflammatory Skin Diseases

In vitro, IL-23 drove the generation of CD4⁺Foxp3⁺RORγt⁺IL-17A⁺ cells from Foxp3⁺ regulatory T cells (Treg). The authors data showed that IL-23 drove Treg plasticity by inducing a population of CD4⁺Foxp3⁺RORγt⁺IL-17A⁺ cells that could play a role in the disease pathogenesis. [Sci Rep] Full Article

Epithelial HMGB1 Delays Skin Wound Healing and Drives Tumor Initiation by Priming Neutrophils for NET Formation

Researchers showed that high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1) derived from keratinocytes, but not myeloid cells, delayed cutaneous wound healing and drove tumor formation. miR-489-3p/SIX1 Axis Regulates Melanoma Proliferation and Glycolytic Potential

Dibutyltin(IV) and Tributyltin(IV) Derivatives of meso-Tetra(4-sulfonatophenyl)porphine Inhibit the Growth and the Migration of Human Melanoma Cells

Investigators studied the effects of the melanoma treatment with two organotin(IV) complexes of the meso-tetra(4-sulfonato-phenyl)porphine, namely (Bu₂Sn)₂TPPS and (Bu₃Sn)₄TPPS.
