Paradoxical Role for Wild-Type p53 in Driving Therapy Resistance in Melanoma

Researchers showed that Wnt5A, a non-canonical Wnt ligand that drives a metastatic, therapy-resistant phenotype, stabilized the half-life of p53 and used p53 to initiate a slow-cycling state following stress. miR-380-3p Regulates Melanogenesis by Targeting SOX6 in Melanocytes from Alpacas (Vicugna pacos)

Luciferase activity assays confirmed that SOX6 was targeted by miR-380-3p. miR-380-3p overexpression and knockdown in alpaca melanocytes respectively downregulated and upregulated SOX6 expression at the mRNA and protein levels. [BMC Genomics] Abstract
