Circulating Tumor Cells Shielded with Extracellular Vesicle-Derived CD45 Evade T Cell Attack to Enable Metastasis

Scientists unequivocally identified a subpopulation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) shielded with extracellular vesicle-derived CD45 that resisted T cell attack. A higher percentage of CD45+ CTCs was found to be closely correlated with a higher incidence of metastasis and worse prognosis in cancer patients.

Loss of Stress Sensor GADD45A Promotes Stem Cell Activity and Ferroptosis Resistance in LGR4/HOXA9-Dependent AML

Researchers defined GADD45A as a key downstream target of LGR4 oncogenic signaling and discovered a regulatory role for GADD45A loss in promoting leukemia-initiating activity and oxidative resistance in LGR4/HOXA9-dependent AML, a poor prognosis subset of leukemia.

IFI35 Regulates Non-Canonical NF-κB Signaling to Maintain Glioblastoma Stem Cells and Recruit Tumor-Associated Macrophages

The authors identified that IFI35, a transcriptional regulatory factor, played both cell-intrinsic and cell-extrinsic roles in maintaining glioma stem cells and the immunosuppressive tumor microenviroment.
