Suppression of Inflammation and Fibrosis Using Soluble Epoxide Hydrolase Inhibitors Enhances Cardiac Stem Cell‐Based Therapy

Scientists tested the hypothesis that inhibition of the soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) enzyme using sEH inhibitors to decrease inflammation and fibrosis in the host myocardium may increase the survival of the transplanted human induced pluripotent stem cell derived‐cardiomyocytes in a murine postmyocardial infarction model.

Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation for Patients with Aggressive NK-Cell Leukemia

Using the Japanese transplant registry data, the outcomes of 59 aggressive NK-cell leukemia patients who underwent first allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation were analyzed. Twenty-nine patients received stem cells from cord blood, 18 from peripheral blood, and 12 from bone marrow.

Limited Potential of AAV-Mediated Gene Therapy in Transducing Human Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Bone Repair Applications

Researchers tested the ability of adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors carrying the cDNA for BMP-2 to transduce human mesenchymal stem cells, produce BMP-2, and induce osteogenesis in vitro as compared with lentiviral gene therapy with a two-step transcriptional amplification system lentiviral vector.

Transduction Patterns in the CNS following Various Routes of AAV-5-Mediated Gene Delivery

Scientists evaluated the adeno-associated virus 5 vector system for its capability to target the central nervous system via intrastriatal, intrathalamic or intracerebroventricular delivery routes in rats.

Different Sites of Extranodal Involvement May Affect the Survival of Patients with Relapsed or Refractory Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma after Chimeric Antigen Receptor T Cell Therapy

The authors found that the different sites of extranodal involvement may affect response, overall survival, and progression-free survival in patients with relapsed or refractory non-Hodgkin lymphoma treated with anti-CD19 CAR-T cells.
