PUBLICATIONS(Ranked by impact factor of the journal)Researchers studied umbilical cord blood (UCB)‐derived CD34+ cell expansion and the miRNA signatures of CD34+ cells on two‐ and three‐dimensional culture conditions. They successfully expanded the UCB‐derived CD34+ cells in both liquid culture and on aminated polyethersulfone nanofiber scaffolds. [J Cell Physiol] Abstract The authors investigated the effects of long‐interval repeated intravenous administration of human umbilical cord blood‐derived‐MSCs at different doses in a CIA mice model. [J Tissue Eng Regen Med] Abstract Umbilical cord blood mononuclear cells were transduced with adenoviral vectors expressing glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) and injected into Alzheimer’s disease transgenic mice. Various parameters including homing and survival of transplanted cells, expression of GDNF and synaptic proteins, as well as spatial memory were evaluated. [J Alzheimers Dis] Abstract Investigators evaluated the transdifferentiation potential of different region-derived same donor Wharton’s jelly MSCs into functional smooth muscle-like cells. [Cell Tissue Res] Abstract Post-hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) relapse is a common cause of mortality, and complications such as chronic graft versus host disease are debilitating and life-threatening. To compare post-HSCT outcomes of different donor sources, the authors retrospectively analyzed consecutive transplants performed in several international centers from 2005 to 2015. [Blood Adv] Full Article | Graphical Abstract Researchers evaluated a novel 3D in vitro culture system that used components of the bone marrow hematopoietic niche to expand umbilical cord blood CD34+ cells.
