YAP1 Controls the N-Cadherin-Mediated Tumor-Stroma Interaction in Melanoma Progression

The progression of a BRAF-mutant mouse melanoma was suppressed in vivo upon YAP1 ablation in cancer-associated fibroblasts.

Calcium Transients Trigger Switch-Like Discharge of Prostaglandin E2 in an Extracellular Signal-Regulated Kinase-Dependent Manner

By observing confluent Madin–Darby canine kidney (MDCK) epithelial cells expressing fluorescent biosensors, investigators demonstrated that calcium transients in a single cell caused Prostaglandin E2-mediated radial spread of PKA activation in neighboring cells.

Bioinspired Adhesive Hydrogel Based on Serotonin-Modified Gelatin and Oxidized Hyaluronic Acid for Rapid Hemostasis and Wound Healing

The hybrid hydrogel system accelerated the wound healing process in a full-thickness skin defect mice model, and the histological staining results demonstrated that it significantly promoted collagen deposition and vascularization.

    Abstract

Cell State Dependent Effects of Bmal1 on Melanoma Immunity and Tumorigenicity

Researchers showed that Bmal1 had a context-dependent role in mouse melanoma tumor growth. Loss of Bmal1 in YUMM2.1 or B16-F10 melanoma cells eliminated clock function and diminished hypoxic gene expression and tumorigenesis, which could be rescued by ectopic expression of HIF1α in YUMM2.1 cells.

Mimicking Tumor Metastasis Using a Transwell-Integrated Organoids-On-a-Chip Platform

A tumor-metastasis-mimicked Transwell-integrated organoids-on-a-chip platform for precisely evaluating tumor metastatic potential was developed.

Targeting CD20-Expressing Malignant Melanoma Cells Augments BRAF Inhibitor Killing

Using melanoma cell lines, investigators defined culture conditions for the reproducible three-dimensional growth of melanospheres to investigate putative cancer stem cell populations.

    Abstract

The CoREST Repressor Complex Mediates Phenotype Switching and Therapy Resistance in Melanoma

Scientists found that the CoREST repressor complex was a critical mediator of the major distinct melanoma phenotypes and that corin treatment of melanoma cells led to phenotype reprogramming.
