Troy/Tnfrsf19 Marks Epidermal Cells That Govern Interfollicular Epidermal Renewal and Cornification

Scientists identified Troy as a marker of interfollicular epidermis and associated hair follicles infundibulum basal layer cells in developing and adult human and mouse epidermis.

Amphiregulin Promotes Hair Regeneration of Skin-Derived Precursors via the PI3K and MAPK Pathways

Skin-derived precursors (SKPs) exhibited great potential as stem cell-based therapies for hair regeneration; however, the proliferation and hair-inducing capacity of SKPs gradually decreased during culturing.

Characterization of Nanoparticles Made of Ethyl Cellulose and Stabilizing Lipids: Mode of Manufacturing, Size Modulation, and Study of Their Effect on Keratinocytes

The obtained nanoparticles have shown low toxicity in keratinocytes, however, higher loadings of cannabidiol or curcumin resulted in increased toxicity. The nanoparticles effectively internalized into keratinocytes, implying their applicability for dermal delivery.

    Abstract

Substances for Regenerative Wound Healing during Antler Renewal Stimulated Scar-Less Restoration of Rat Cutaneous Wounds

Researchers investigated the process of pedicle wound healing at the organ, tissue, cell, and molecular levels. Their results convincingly demonstrated that wounds over the pedicle preceded a regenerative healing process including regeneration of skin appendages, such as hair follicles.

    Abstract

A Stress-Induced miR-31–CLOCK–ERK Pathway Is a Key Driver and Therapeutic Target for Skin Aging

Scientists reported that mouse skin hair follicle stem cell (HFSC) aging was initiated by their intrinsic upregulation of miR-31, a microRNA that could be induced by physical injury or genotoxic stress and was also strongly upregulated in aged human skin epithelium.

Targeting CDK4/6 Represents a Therapeutic Vulnerability in Acquired BRAF/MEK Inhibitor Resistant Melanoma

Researchers performed whole exome sequencing on BRAF-V600E mutant melanoma patient tumors refractory to the combination of BRAF/MEK inhibition and identified acquired oncogenic mutations in NRAS and loss of the tumor suppressor gene CDKN2A.

Efficient Delivery of Chlorin e6 by Polyglycerol-Coated Iron Oxide Nanoparticles with Conjugated Doxorubicin for Enhanced Photodynamic Therapy of Melanoma

In vitro experiments showed that IO–PG–DOX–Ce6 markedly increased Ce6 uptake in mouse melanoma cells, leading to much-enhanced photocytotoxicity characterized by intensified reactive oxygen species production, loss of viability, DNA damage, and stimulation of tumor cell immunogenicity.

Treatment of Melanoma by Nano-Conjugate-Delivered Wee1 siRNA

cRGD–R9–cholesterol–PEI–PEG nanoparticles were designed for Wee1 siRNA delivery to form an RRCPP/siWee1 complex, which significantly silenced the expression of the WEE1 gene and induced B16 tumor cell apoptosis by abrogating the G2M checkpoint and DNA damage in vitro.

Circular RNA circRNA_0082835 Promotes Progression and Lymphatic Metastasis of Primary Melanoma by Sponging microRNA miRNA-429

To identify how circular RNA circRNA_0082835 impacted melanoma cells and lymphatic metastasis to observe whether it exerted effects through its action mechanism of sponging microRNA miR-429.
